It is the season to pant rice and a festival of celebrating prosperity of soil. It lies on 15th of Asar i.e in between late June and early July. According to legend, king Sudhodana from Kapilvastu district started plowing field with golden plow and planted rice which later on became a National Paddy Day since 2062 BS. Paddy Day's another special moment is ritual of having curd and beaten rice as a festive meal, snacks along with fruits and other varieties.
