      Ghode Jatra     Ghode Jatra is one of the annual festivals of Nepal which is basically celebrated in Kathmandu - Tudikhel. The word Ghoda refers to horse and Jatra means festival , so ghode Jatra is the festival of horses. Ghode Jatra is celebrated in the month of March - April. On the day of ghode Jatra Nepal Army performs various acts by riding horse, horse racing, horse parade, various performances can be seen in Kathmandu - Tudikhel ground. Public holiday is given in this day where most of the governmental office remains closed. "It is said that Gurumapa  - one of the demons used in live in Kathmandu and the kids started disappearing day by day which was believed to be because of Gurumapa so people tried various ways to scare Gurumapa but nothing could scare him and once people chased him upto Tudikhel ground where many horses ran towards Gurumapa which injured him and he finally got scared and ran away so Jhode Jatra was believed to be started since then".  During

                  Indra Jatra Introduction Indra refers to the god king of heaven as well as the god of rain whereas Jatra means the festival so the overall concept of Indra Jatra is the festival which is meant for honoring Indra god, his mother Basundhara, living goddess Kumari, Ganesh, Bhairav and so on. Indra Jatra is mainly celebrated by the original local of Kathmandu i.e people from Newar community and is observed in Kathmandu. Indra Jatra falls on September but the day can be different as it is celebrated according to the Newar calendar. It is 8 days festival which is meant for different celebration and occasion.                   Teej 2079 Teej is one of the most important festival which is celebrated by Hindu women in Nepal and all around the world. It is celebrated every year in month of Bhadra (August - September). Teej is the one and only festival which is meant for women and is observed by married women and unmarried girls. Teej is a special festival in which women, girls perform fasting and offer prayers in the name of lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. It is believed that Parvati did fasting along with a wish of getting lord Shiva as her husband which got fulfilled so Teej can also be taken as the festival to be celebrated in the name of Shiv and Parvati. Teej is also a festival of red color as most of the women wear red saree during this festival.
