      Ghode Jatra     Ghode Jatra is one of the annual festivals of Nepal which is basically celebrated in Kathmandu - Tudikhel. The word Ghoda refers to horse and Jatra means festival , so ghode Jatra is the festival of horses. Ghode Jatra is celebrated in the month of March - April. On the day of ghode Jatra Nepal Army performs various acts by riding horse, horse racing, horse parade, various performances can be seen in Kathmandu - Tudikhel ground. Public holiday is given in this day where most of the governmental office remains closed. "It is said that Gurumapa  - one of the demons used in live in Kathmandu and the kids started disappearing day by day which was believed to be because of Gurumapa so people tried various ways to scare Gurumapa but nothing could scare him and once people chased him upto Tudikhel ground where many horses ran towards Gurumapa which injured him and he finally got scared and ran away so Jhode Jatra was believed to be started since then".  During

Craze of youth in political movements: Balen Shah





 

As we all are aware of the recent political changes of our country , we probably know about the issues related to politics, election, and so on . Almost everyone knows about Balen Shah as there is craze of him in social media as well as in every age group people. He is renowned person who has stand as an individual candidate for the mayor of kathmandu metropolitan in the local election which has happened few weeks back. Balen Shah aka Balendra Shah was born in April 27, 1990 in Gairigaun Tinkune , kathmandu. He is son of Dr. Ram Narayan shah, a veteran Ayurvedic doctor and Dhruba Shah. Balen shah is also known as a Nepalese rapper, singer, engineer, social activist and so on. He gain more popularity when he states to stand as an individual candidate in local election for mayor of kathmandu. Balen did schooling from Alliance Academy, college from V.S Niketan, bachelor from White House Institute of Technology in civil engineering and did his masters in structural engineering from Karnataka's VTU. He is married and his wife/spouse name is Sabina Kafle as per some online media sources and lives in Sinamangal, Kathmandu.

Balen Shah's step into the political world was taken casually by many political leaders in the beginning phase but now people's craze and support for him is making huge impact. Previous mayor Keshav Sthapit was taking Balen for granted and was not so serious about him to gain popularity, support as well as vote from people. Balen's was leading with 55,777 votes, Srijana Singh( nepali congress) by 20,777 votes and Keshav Sthapit (CPN-UML) by 21,151 votes according to the update of wednesday afternoon. Balen was an individual candidate and he was given Lauro (stick) as an election symbol. After getting stick as a electon symbol, in twitter he states that " Stick is my election symbol. This can be used to provide support to elderlies and even punish corrupts". Balen is unofficially confirmed to become a new mayor of kathmandu metropolitan though the final confirmed votes are yet to come.


Major changes Balen wants to make in Kathmandu 

  1. Reconstruction works of historical monuments without losing is originality and archeological value.
  2. Recognition and Branding of Nepali festivals worldwide. 
  3. Preservations of Durbar, Temples, Dhunge Dhara(traditional stone foundation ), canals, ponds, etc, that carries historical values.
  4. Proper health services and infrastructural Ambulance facilities. 
  5. Underground Train and Metro by studying proper transportation management.
  6. Primary health care Centre in every local areas, wards. 

To wrap it up, Nepali political systems are always unstable and we are seeing ups and down as an eyewitness. Being aa public, we are just observing positive and negative impact of political instability in our basic life due to price hike. All we have is the right is to cast vote and to chose potential candidates and patiently wait for the changes that are to yet to happen. This election has made a huge differences in compare to any other previous election as youth candidates are seeing enthusiastic and eager to do something new for the nation.
