World Environment Day 2022

As we all know that an environment is the surrounding where living beings along with non-living things are sustaining lives. Environment is the natural world that is given for free so its our duty to look after and protect environment for our own life safety. United Nations established world Environment Day in 1972, which come into implementation since 1974, so USA was the first host country of World Environment Day from 1974 with the theme "Only One Earth" same theme as 2022. World Environment Day is celebrated for the aim to give awareness about the importance of earth's protection by us. We are getting advantages from environment but not paying attention to the impact of changes environment facing because of our neglected activities,

This year Sweden is the host country of World Environment Day and its theme is "Only One Earth". Since the beginning the day is celebrated in a different perspective view showing the importance of earth. Being so called educated being we are still not considering doing something for the preservation of environment. Due of urbanization, deforestation, pollution, use of chemicals we are seeing climate changes, sign of Global warming but we are reacting so casually. To avoid the consequence that are yet to come we must be serious about the environment and its protection. Human beings and animals are both living beings but despite being educated being we are becoming worse than animals, animals are somehow balancing the nature but we are becoming the reason of pollution, deforestation, chemical users and so on.

Importance of Environment Day

1. To give awareness about the environment conservation and value nature.
2. To raise awareness of climate change, Global warming.
3. To provide information about the bad impact of chemical pesticides, pollution, etc.
4. To encourage people for afforestation instead of deforestation.
5. To knowledge people about the consequence of human carelessness towards nature.
6. To motivate people to be protective of environment.

               

                  How world Environment Day is celebrated

Till now we are aware of environment, world Environment Day, now lets talk about how this day is celebrated worldwide. On every 5th June it is to be celebrated either by organizing  different campaign for cleaning up the local residents, public street dramas related to environment, planting trees in deforested land to avid land slides. Though the way of celebration may differ from country to country the main motivation are always for the preservation and awareness campaign for the environment conservation.

Hence, environment is our basic need and its protection is our duties as well as it should be given care for its given values to both living and non living beings. We are the first person to get affected when environment presents destruction and natural disasters. In order to avoid climate change, Global warming and change in nature we should celebrate environment day everyday by doing something for the environment not just on particular day only.
