Ghode Jatra

      Ghode Jatra     Ghode Jatra is one of the annual festivals of Nepal which is basically celebrated in Kathmandu - Tudikhel. The word Ghoda refers to horse and Jatra means festival , so ghode Jatra is the festival of horses. Ghode Jatra is celebrated in the month of March - April. On the day of ghode Jatra Nepal Army performs various acts by riding horse, horse racing, horse parade, various performances can be seen in Kathmandu - Tudikhel ground. Public holiday is given in this day where most of the governmental office remains closed. "It is said that Gurumapa  - one of the demons used in live in Kathmandu and the kids started disappearing day by day which was believed to be because of Gurumapa so people tried various ways to scare Gurumapa but nothing could scare him and once people chased him upto Tudikhel ground where many horses ran towards Gurumapa which injured him and he finally got scared and ran away so Jhode Jatra was believed to be started since then".  During

                  Teej 2079 Teej is one of the most important festival which is celebrated by Hindu women in Nepal and all around the world. It is celebrated every year in month of Bhadra (August - September). Teej is the one and only festival which is meant for women and is observed by married women and unmarried girls. Teej is a special festival in which women, girls perform fasting and offer prayers in the name of lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. It is believed that Parvati did fasting along with a wish of getting lord Shiva as her husband which got fulfilled so Teej can also be taken as the festival to be celebrated in the name of Shiv and Parvati. Teej is also a festival of red color as most of the women wear red saree during this festival.   Janai Purnima/Rakshya Bandhan/ Kwati khane din/ Gai Jatra/Rishi Tarpan Janai Purnima Among many culture and festivals of Nepal, Janai Purnima is one of them. Janai Purnima can also be taken as the festival of sacred thread which means it is the day when male member of the Hindu family mostly brahmin and chhetriya change their janai (sacred thread ) which they wear across their chest by a new one after taking a bath on this particular day. Janai Purnima falls annually in the month of Shrawan or Bhadra (August -September) as per Nepali Calendar. As male members change their janai, other member of the family tie thread on the wrist called ' 'Doro'' which can be of one color or mixed with different colors by the help of their priest along with tika on their forehead. It is believed that wearing doro in this day is auspicious and it can protect us from bad omen. Nag Panchami

                                Nag Panchami Nag Panchami is the rituals of worshipping Nag Devta (snake god) which is celebrated by Hindus. Nag Panchami falls in the month of Shrawan i.e (July – August) according to Hindu calendar. On the day of nag Panchami, nag statues , nag painting is being worshipped and pictures of Nag is glued above the main door of the house. It is believed the sticking Nag pictures above the door and worship of Nag Devta would be a blessing upon the family and brings positively or wellness in the family. According to Mahabharat epic, snake sacrifice called Sarpa Satra was performed by the son of king named parikshita of kuru dynasty. It is said that king parikshita died by the bite of the snake king Takshaka. Later Janamejaya son of parikshita decided to perform a grand puja or Yagya to avenge the death of his father. Sarpa satra was so powerful that made most of the snakes to lose their life in the fire pit of that sacrifice puja but Takshaka was nowhere
