Technology in Education

Education is the process of development which starts from home through parental teaching and continues by school, college, universities and so on. Education is one of the basic needs which helps to develop our knowledge in advance form after a child reach to certain age whereas technology in education refers to the presence of technological development in education system in practical and in more effective way. Traditional education was based on theoretical knowledge which has now changed to theoretical knowledge along with practical with the help of technology. In present education system course are designed with the need of practical whether it about science lab, presentation like power point, arts and crafts, documentaries, etc. Web search has become one of the effective to be more knowledgeable and gain information which is possible due technological development.

 

Technology has come with the ideas like Virtual study or meeting and a path to dig up the information of the world just by searching  through media platforms. After the development of advanced technologies study streams have become wide where one can choose different subjects to study. Computer science, IT, mechanical engineering and technology has been a choice of study.
Nowadays technology has been used since childhood whether for entertainment purposes or to study basic alphabet letters as well as rhymes. Study becomes easier when it makes us more attentive in class while teaching so practical experience helps children to pay attention and be eager to learn more. While we are studying or learning something enthusiasm is something that is needed and if we are less likely to learn more than being in class is just like roaming around without the motive of learning. When the world was suffering from COVID technology has helped to cover up the lesson through online study, office work was possible through online meetings and conferences, different training was done virtually. So, technology was indeed a great gift especially when public gatherings were not possible in school, office, celebration and many more.

Demerits of technology in education

1.  Improper use of technology has made children more addictive to technological tools.

2.  Less interaction between teachers, students and even among classmate.

3.  Students are more attentive towards technology rather than physical activities.

4.  Less guidance may create misuse of unreliable information.

5.  Technological education is more costly for some students. 

 

Hence, education along with technology is highly in demand for students and their parents too.  Well -developed infrastructure along with technological advances are kept in priorities while attending school, college, universities and so on. Teaching with practical is more interesting and captivating to most of the student rather than just a lecture as students of present time are more into technology rather the lecture of the teachers. Two way interaction is needed to be know whether the students are understanding  lesson that they are taught in class or not and if someone is not getting the verbal teaching than the teacher should adopt practical way to teach them and that is possible either by projecting ideas through projector or by performing practical in lab. Basically technology is needed in present education system and teaching which should be highly managed by the school and college so that the students won’t be misguided by the technology.
