One month
fasting of Islam religion that is celebrated according to the ninth month of
Islamic calendar which is followed by the people of Muslim community all over
the world is Ramadan. Once a year Muslim follower observed Ramadan in which
they won’t have anything after sun rises till sunset and they even do not drink
water for the whole day unless they child, old, ill and so on. Fasting is their
way of giving gratitude to Allah and even to mankind who might have to go
through struggle without having food in their life. Ramadan is one of the
important festivals among Muslim just like other festivals. Muslim believes
that during Ramadan, their sacred book Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammad
which has given give important to Ramadan.
Ramadan 2023
has started from 23rd of March to 23rd of April as it last for 30
days. For 30 days Muslim followers continues their fasting in a same way and
fasting ends after a month after they celebrate Eid- Al-Fitr. Eid- AI- Fitr is
also known as ‘’festival of breaking the fast’’ as it symbolized the end of
Ramadan. In most of the Muslim countries different holidays are given to the
workers so that they won’t feel uneasy while working. Ramadan is the month of fasting
as well as the moment to enjoy with families, friends and relatives.

In Ramadan
two dishes are eaten that is – Suhoor and iftar where Suhoor is
the dish that they have before sunrise and iftar is the dinner dish that they
have during Ramadan. In most of the family in middle east dinner table full of
foods like Flatbread, kebab, dolma, salad, dates, sweets, Turkish cuisine and dates
is one of the needed varieties for Iftar. Turkish cuisine is taken as one of
the delicious cuisines over the world and once one gets used to Turkish food it’s
becomes their first preference. Ramadan fasting is observed in the day time without
having water as well so before sunrises they had foods that provide protein,
fiber, fruits, drinks and vegetable to remain hydrated for the whole day and
they don’t have to perform heavy work and they can’t even have cigarette and
chewing gum on day time or we could say while they are on fast. Fasting is not
compulsory for children, old age people, pregnant woman, sick and those who are
travelling.
Hence,
Muslim followers are highly devoted towards Allah and Ramadan is one of the
ways to express their sincerity and gratitude for Allah. Through fasting they
want their prayers reaches to their god. Fasting for a whole month seems
difficult but they observed it wholeheartedly which is a great thing that one
can do. Ramadan Mubarak to all the people of Muslim community.
