Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robots

 

What is artificial intelligence?

An intelligence which is used along with the use of computer systems through machines, robots and so on. Artificial intelligence is totally opposite in compare with human intelligence as it works way faster than human and with the development of technology AI is becoming the priorities for many companies rather than human workers. John McCarthy is known as the father of AI and he has coined the term “Artificial Intelligence” in 1950s. Similarly, robots are about to replace human workers as they perform the task more effectively and faster. According to the data given by mckinsey on 2017- “it is said that by the year 2030, 800 million jobs can be taken over robots or AI”.  Social media are also using AI to make the website more advance as well as to mange the cost that are costly when human resources need whereas AI makes the websites less costly to manage the expense. AI chats is another developed technology which is sure to replace human resources (HR) in the days to come.

 

Since the pandemic cause by Corona virus, many people were jobless as they couldn’t actively attend office or work in the workplace and many companies came up with the idea of AI and more use of robotic machine which ultimately made the companies to be more attractive towards AI instead of Human resources they machines are less likely to be affected by any calamities or other reasons. Companies like Alphabet, Microsoft, Vox media, BlackRock, Coinbase, McDonald, Stitch Fix, Amazon, Salesforce, Twitter, etc has laid off workers and the common reason to lay off was to manage cost and some companies had to suffer lost during pandemic. Pandemic has somehow made the companies to apply alternative way to manage the lost with the use of AI and systematic robots as they can works faster and in effective ways with less errors.

 

Some of the merits and demerits of Artificial Intelligence

Merits

1. Less time consuming
2. Not biasness issue
3. Accuracy in work
4. Capable of more work than human resources
5. No disputes in workplace and less risk  

 

Demerit

1. It replaced human resources so it creates unemployment
2. Creativity might not be seen
3. Improvement might differ when the work is done by machine.
4. Machine based work might be costly sometimes.
5. Makes people more dependent upon machines.

 

Hence, in general artificial intelligence is the development in the technology sector to make life easier and reduce risk in the company but AI may not be perfect all the time as small companies can’t afford the expenses in machines and its maintenance. In the 21^st century machinery equipment is slowly and gradually replacing human resources and study says that by the year 2030 unemployment issue is going to be the major one as more companies are applying artificial intelligence. Once people are unemployed there is sure to raise basic personal problems whether they are physical or psychological. Artificial intelligence may be the gift for companies but it may cause the risk for human and it definitely is not helpful for salaried employee.
